587 (former no. 7A) Corniglia - Cigoletta

The trail sets off in Corniglia, nearby the starway named Lardarina. After crossing the paved road that leads to the train station, the path takes an alley on the eastern side of the parish church of Saint Peter, passes by a fountain and starts climbing up a steep and sometimes uneven stairway among vineyards and olive groves, partly abandoned. The trail then continues through a pinewood, and meets the ending point of trail 586 from Volastra. Proceeding uphill through the woods, the trail passes nearby the group of houses called Case Pianca and meets the provincial road SP 51, with which shares a short stretch (200 m) northbound, then turns to the right and continues offroad climbing through a wood of holm oaks. At the end of the wood the trail meets the AV5T on the western hill pass of mount Marvede, in the place called Cigoletta.
